Most smartphone makers aim to build a device which millions of people will want. That strong multi-tasking ability should be bolstered by a hefty 3,500mAh battery. However, there's no doubt that the Key2 is a niche phone for a specific audience.

BlackBerry is becoming comfortably playful with its products - as a show-up of confidence, the company revealed a bold and youthful new member of its Key series just a while ago. Building upon the strong foundation established by the KEY2, the TCL-owned company just unwrapped its KEY2 LE, a phone that aims to bring that seemingly-loved physical keyboard to an even broader audience. This mid-range device substitutes the KEY2's not-so-bad Snapdragon 600 chipset for a more humble and power-efficient Snapdragon 636 chip, throws in a modest 3,000mAh battery at the trunk, and slightly downsizes the camera package while still retaining a whole slew of neat KEY2 features. For example, the fingerprint is still neatly and inconspicuously embedded in the space key of the keyboard, whereas the right frame of the phone has that super-useful Convenience key. As we mentioned in our hands-on, by default this one has a lot to deal with the Google Assisstant and Google Lens, but we are riveting at the fact that BlackBerry allows remapping. This brings us to the rather important topic of pricing, release date and the availability of the KEY2 LE. With this new addition to their product lineup, the KEY2 LE keeps the iconic BlackBerry styling while offering an accessible entry point for our fans around the world to enjoy a modern BlackBerry smartphone. When asked if it will bring the phone on any US carriers, the company declined to comment but heavily hinted that it might have some news for us very soon... Lest we forget, this phone is NOT for everybody. It's not for gamers, videophiles or YouTubers. Those who want to make a fashion statement and brag about screen to body ratio - look elsewhere. Productivity and some social media for those who prefer security and a physical keyboard - that's who this is geared for. It would have made more sense to just touch up the first generation model and use it instead since the price of it is fairly close to the LE. I honestly think they fumbled with this one. It's quite disappointing because I was holding out for a touchscreen only version of the KeyTWO. Just my thoughts on the matter. This is a great way to have your BlackBerry branded smartphones reach more people who are on tighter budgets and in developing markets. It's better that you have gone this route as opposed to touching up the Keyone since there is no way to physically do so since it already exists. You'd have to make a new model anyway, so why not go with the more modern design and greater specs, and at a lower price point than when the Keyone was first released. Makes much more sense to do it this way. This is actually much better this way, especially since you will have the Keytwo LE more readily available in more markets than the Keyone was at launch. For all intents and purposes, this is a win on BlackBerry Mobile's part, and it's obvious for intelligent person to see this. Omg, can you be any more conceited? Not everyone has to have the same opinion as you so get off your high horse. Keytwo LE has SD636. Keytwo LE has dual cameras with features not found on the Keyone. Keyone has a single camera that lacks the features of the Keyone. Keytwo LE has a more intelligent physical keyboard and and brand new speed key. Keyone lacks speed key. Dropping the price which they already have done isn't the same as offering something new and different at a lower price. The only options would have been to offer a new device, which they have done, with better specs and a lower price than the Keyone when comparing release prices. FFS, do you have to attack BlackBerry smartphones at every turn? Even with BlackBerry Mobile having done the right thing by offering what us essentially a lower priced Keytwo that has better specs than the Keyone, you still find a reason to complain. We don't have to have the same opinion, but you are flat out ignoring the FACTS to push your FICTION, and it's all because I'm the one pointing out the facts. You've also just proved that you DO NOT know about BlackBerry branded smartphones and that you DO NOT read the articles, or you would know that the Keytwo LE has better specs with the Keyone, with perhaps the only exception being battery life, since the Keyone has a bigger battery with the Keytwo LE having the more power efficient SoC. By the way, don't think I didn't notice how chickened out from people here calling you out as being mxyzptlk, which is exactly who you are. I take it that you only read part of my comment, but knowing you and your tendency to just go at it instead of reading, I'll just say that you didn't. Remember the last time you jumped and tried to call me out only for it to backfire? Here, let me give you a refresher. I fixed your post for you. And way to deflect from the logic and facts in my comment by you posting a link that doesn't prove anything relevant to the conversation. You can't disprove what I said as it is both logical and factual, so now you're trying to avoid it entirely by changing the subject. Sorry kid, things don't work like that. I posted facts proving that the Keytwo LE is the superior product that costs less, thus proving that BlackBerry Mobile made the correct decision to release it as opposed to trying to push the Keyone that has lesser specs, and now you're seething with anger and scrambling to change the subject because I made you look the incompetent troll that you are. Remember this day like all the others, mxyzptlk. I'm sure your megalomania won't let you forget it anyway. Certainly not by your comments but rather by your total disregard for logic. You've obviously had some decent level of education judging from your grammar and sentence composition. So how is it that you make some of the most ridiculous, asinine and moronic statements a sentient being could ever make?
Surely that's the flagship BlackBerry phone that 2018 deserves. Dropping the price which they already have done isn't the same as offering something new and different at a lower price. And whose fault is that. The keyboard is massively improved over the KeyOne, the battery will get through a whole day without trying, and the Speed Key makes it easy to get things done quickly. Just my thoughts on the matter. It has rectangular buttons that are wider than they are tall. The keys are easier to press because their height have been raised by 20 percent and they now come with a matte finish, making them less slippery. I've found a new brand here in the states.
